Vocal Fusion goes to Nationals!
Hey everyone! We’re proud to announce that Vocal Fusion will be competing in Canada’s first national Show Choir Competition. On April 8th and 9th, they will be going to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre to go for the championship! You’ll be able to watch live, if you buy a ticket (sold through Ticketmaster). It’s still a few months away, so while you’re waiting, there are a few links to check out, such as Show Choir Canada’s official site, featuring information, contests, and media features.

Important Updates
Hey everyone! Here are some updates on upcoming events with the RHHS Music Department.
Holiday Serenade! We are having our concert next Tuesday. Please buy your tickets soon, we are barely over 50% for all band members! It’s never too late to buy last minute tickets; we will even be selling tickets at the door, although hopefully we won’t have any tickets left over for that to happen! We also plan on having the performance recorded, and hopefully some videos of the concert will surface on this site afterwards. Don’t forget about our afterparty on Thursday after the concert! RSVP via the invite we sent to your email, so we can prepare for all of those who want to come.
Gold Fever Lobby Concert! We are going to be performing on Thursday morning after the concert. Wake up a bit earlier than usual to catch some of our fantastic repertoire. Besides, Gold Band members would have had rehearsal that morning anyways, so what’s waking up just a bit earlier compared to waking up for band?
Fundraising! Currently, all our fundraising is complete. All the fudge has been sold, and we are considering planning another busking event. Stay tuned about that as well.
Busking Information!
Hey guys,
I’m sure you have been seeing our posters in the hall for Busking. Now that the cold is settling in, and tests and projects occupy our minds, who couldn’t use a little music in the morning to cheer them up before a long day of school?
Auditions take place in room 1069 (the music room) between Monday, November 8th and Friday, November 12th. Be prepared with all the songs you want to play for the actual busking days and you will be asked to perform a piece of each song. If you are interested, come by the music room to sign up. Don’t worry about the judges, because we (the Music Council Execs) will be watching the auditions. We’re looking for your enthusiasm, your stage presence, and of course, your musical talent. It doesn’t matter what you play: piano, flute, guitar, or just vocals, we wanna you to show us your talent. You do not have to be a music student at RHHS to audition. We welcome everyone to come try out!
If you are selected to perform, Busking days are from Monday, November 15th to Friday, November 19th (the week after your auditions). You will be performing from 8:00am to 8:40 am. We suggest you come to school at least 20 minutes before to set up and warm up.
Even if you do not want to perform, come to school early to enjoy music performed by your fellow RHHS students and bring some spare change to support our school’s music department!
Lastly, regardless of whether you are performing or not, tell all your friends! We want a big turnout for our busking week.

I am pleased to say that the fudge sales were a huge success! We sold out in a matter of two days! Thanks for all your support! To those of you who helped out with the selling process, special thanks to you.

Welcome back!
Hey guys!
Welcome to another great school year at RHHS!
As some of you may have noticed, we’ve made some changes to the website, including the addition of this blog. This blog will be updating regularly, posting entries about the various upcoming music events. So make sure to check back often!
This year, we have some big things planned. While most of you were off enjoying your summer, the Music Council Steering Committee, under the direction of Mr.Henry and Mrs.Christopolous, have been working hard to ensure this year to be the most musically fun and activity-filled year yet.
First up on our musical agenda, make sure you join Music Council if you are interested in helping out with planning concerts, fundraisers, spirit week, and all the other exciting music-related events that happen throughout the year. We meet on Tuesdays, after school in the music room. Our first meeting will be on September 21st.
Furthermore, look forward to some wicked t-shirt sales. We will be selling music graphic tees for both music council members and music students in general. Even if you don’t take music, you’ll probably want one because they look amazing!
Also, don’t be surprised if you come to school one morning and there are musicians playing in our halls. That’s right, RHHS Busking is back! If you don’t know what buskers are, they are street performers who entertain audiences for donations. We will be looking for some very unique and talented individuals or small ensembles who are interested in entertaining our staff and students before school. So whether you want to perform or just listen to a gifted group of musicians, look forward to multiple busking days this year!
Lastly, expect to be hearing from our multiple bands and choirs very shortly. We have some big concerts up ahead!

Hello, this is the new RHHS Music Department website! We have adopted a new layout and fixed several pages since last year. This is our blog, and we will be posting updates regarding our department, such as competition results, trip information, and updates to the website.
